Singing Bowl Practitioner Training: The Art of Presence & Sound

What to Expect

"To offer a haven of rest for others, we must first learn to anchor ourselves in our own quiet center. The medicine of the singing bowls is discovered when we use their resonance to listen to, hold, and support our own being."

Carrie Choong

The Intention

This training is a practical, grounded introduction to working with Himalayan singing bowls. It is designed for those who wish to build a meaningful personal self-practice, facilitate intentional 1-on-1 sessions, or design thoughtful sound journeys for groups.

To ensure you get proper hands-on guidance and direct feedback, this training is kept strictly private—offered only as a 1-on-1 session or for a maximum of 2 participants booking together.

What We Will Cover

  • The Science of Sound & The Nervous System: Learn the foundational science of how pure auditory frequencies and vibration interact with the human nervous system to ease stress, lower anxiety, and bring the body back into a natural state of equilibrium.

  • Sound Healing for Self-Practice: How to use the bowls daily for your own grounding, emotional regulation, and personal meditation before holding space for others.

  • The Art of 1-on-1 Sessions: Understanding the fundamentals of Vibroacoustic Therapy (placing bowls directly on or near the physical body) and how Brainwave Entrainment helps quieten the active mind into states of deep rest.

  • Designing Group Sound Journeys: How to intentionally map out a group session, manage the pacing, and create smooth, seamless transitions from sound into restorative silence.

  • The Art of Playing & Safety: Learn playing techniques (touch, tone, rhythm) with multiple bowls, and how to feel safe and to set up a room layout that feels physically and emotionally safe for participants.

What is Included

  • Your Own Meditative Singing Bowl (Worth $220): A hand-picked premium small Himalayan singing bowl and mallet to take home, ensuring you can continue your practice seamlessly on your own.

  • Hands-On Practice: Unhurried time to practice with premium, therapeutic-grade instruments with my full guidance.

  • Post-Class Integration: A 1.5-hour follow-up tutorial (scheduled a few weeks after our main class) to address any questions, blocks, or refinements that arise after you begin your own personal home practice.

  • "I’ve been interested in soundbaths and wanting to buy a singing bowl for myself for a while, but I had no knowledge of how to play it. This need was completely met through Carrie’s workshop. As a beginner with very little knowledge about the topic, the session was so insightful and met all my expectations. I loved the soundbath itself, alongside understanding the theory behind sound therapy and meditation, and the gentle reminder to make space for myself. I walked away feeling overall lighter with a quieter mind. I truly took home more than anticipated—it wasn’t just the knowledge, but also the deep healing that took place during the session."

  • "I attended the workshop for my own self-learning and healing. The learning process felt incredibly comforting and grounding, especially with the use of different levels and sizes of singing bowls, creating different sounds. What resonated with me deeply was the talk about allowing space for ourselves and learning to simply be in the presence of oneself."
